Jakarta, Sept. 8 -- Indonesia's Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf has announced plans to provide special allowances for teachers and principals at Sekolah Rakyat (People's Schools).
During a visit on Monday to a junior high Sekolah Rakyat in Batu City, East Java, Yusuf said the Ministry of Social Affairs is coordinating with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) on the initiative.
He explained that the allowance will be based on local regulations, but if a region's allowance is lower than the national average, the national standard will apply.
