Jakarta, Sept. 9 -- The Indonesian government plans to direct its sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, to provide financial support for special economic zones (SEZs) designated to strengthen the manufacturing sector.

At a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, Acting Secretary-General of the National SEZ Council Rizal Edwin Manansang emphasized that the health-focused SEZ in Sanur, Bali, is not among Danantara's funding priorities.

"I believe Danantara has no plans for the Sanur SEZ, which has already been inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto, as this zone focuses on health. We aim to direct Danantara's funds to manufacturing SEZs," he said.
