Jakarta, Sept. 23 -- The Indonesian Government suspends 190 permits of mineral and coal mines, following a comprehensive evaluation of the mining sector by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
"The comprehensive evaluation was conducted by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal", Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung confirmed here on Tuesday.
Tanjung stated that the parameters for suspension vary, ranging from the companies' compliance with the post-mining reclamation policy to adherence to the Work and Budget Plan (RKAB), among others.
Some mines whose permits were suspended produce more than the set threshold in the RKAB, he stated.
