Jakarta, May 20 -- The Indonesian government has proposed allocating up to Rp761 trillion (over US$46 billion) for education in the 2026 Draft State Budget (RAPBN).

"In 2026, the education budget is estimated to reach between Rp727 trillion and Rp761 trillion," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati during a plenary session of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday.

The session was held to discuss the government's macroeconomic framework and fiscal policy guidelines for the 2026 RAPBN.
