Bandung, June 23 -- The Indonesian government officially launched the second round of the Regional Leaders' Retreat in Sumedang, West Java, on Monday.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said the retreat - held at the National Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) campus in Jatinangor - is aimed at reinforcing national unity.

"The main goal of this retreat is to consolidate and strengthen our values of unity as a nation and a state," he stated in his opening remarks.

He noted that IPDN was selected as the venue due to its accessibility for regional officials, compared to the previous location - the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java.
