Jakarta, Oct. 21 -- Indonesia must strengthen its waste management system to support the country's goal of achieving food self-sufficiency, Deputy Environment Minister Diaz Hendropriyono said on Tuesday, echoing President Prabowo Subianto's call for better clean water management.
Hendropriyono said waste and water management are integral to food security, a top priority under Prabowo's administration.
"During last night's cabinet meeting, Mr. President emphasized the importance of clean water because it is directly linked to food security and national resilience," he told a forum on the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 109/2025 in Jakarta.
