Jakarta, March 21 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs has identified over 200 potential sites for the establishment of schools under Sekolah Rakyat, a program aimed at providing children from economically disadvantaged families with broader access to free, quality education.
Minister Saifullah Yusuf reported this to President Prabowo Subianto during their meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
Yusuf said that these sites include ministry-owned land and buildings, as well as other locations suggested by governors, district heads, and mayors.
He added that over 160 of these sites were obtained from regional governments, with 115 being plots of land measuring five hectares or more, while the rest are ministry-owned...
