Indonesia, Sept. 10 -- The Indonesian government has assured that the rights of suspects involved in the arson attack on the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) building in Makassar, South Sulawesi, are being respected.

"We guarantee that all rights of the suspects involved in the anarchic demonstration in Makassar are fulfilled," Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra said on Wednesday.

Mahendra made the statement after visiting detainees at the South Sulawesi Regional Police Headquarters in Makassar. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that all legal proceedings are carried out transparently, fairly, and in line with procedure.
