Jakarta, Aug. 29 -- Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, clarified that the summons of social media platform representatives like Meta and TikTok was part of ongoing content moderation efforts, not related to recent demonstrations.

"That's not what they meant-it's not about the demonstrations. It's about content moderation, which has been ongoing for some time," Nezar said at the Ministry's office here on Friday.

He explained that the government works with platform providers to curb harmful content, such as online gambling and other illegal material.

"We've long collaborated to ensure platforms comply with community guidelines and regulations," he added.
