Jakarta, July 27 -- The Indonesian government is calling on universities to lead the effort in developing ethically resilient digital talent prepared for the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

This message was delivered by Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid during the 13th anniversary celebration of the Kosgoro 1957 Institute of Business and Informatics (IBI) in Jakarta on Friday.

"We want AI and other advanced technologies to not only be dominated by major powers, but also serve as tools for the creativity of our nation's youth. That's why we're inviting universities to collaborate," Hafid said in a statement issued Saturday.
