Jayapura, Papua, June 19 -- A joint Indonesian military-police team has restored security at Aminggaru Ilaga Airport in Central Papua's Puncak District following a disturbance by an armed separatist group on Wednesday.
"The armed criminal group attempted to open fire at the airport, prompting a swift response from joint security personnel, which resulted in a gunfight. Personnel of the Peace Cartenz Task Force and the military responded quickly to restore the situation," said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, operations chief of the task force.
