Padang, Sept. 24 -- Indonesia's Air Force is backing President Prabowo Subianto's drive to strengthen food security, part of his vision to make the country a global agricultural powerhouse, the Air Force chief said on Wednesday.
"The Air Force is committed to supporting national food security programs," said Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Mohammad Tonny Harjono in a statement from West Sumatra.
To support the agenda, the Air Force launched a corn cultivation initiative in the province, marked by a mass harvest at Sutan Sjahrir Air Base in Padang.
"This harvest reflects the strong synergy between the Air Force and the community," Harjono said.
