Jakarta, Feb. 26 -- The Ombudsman of Indonesia discussed the follow-up to bilateral cooperation with the Ombudsman of New Zealand in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Deputy Chief of the Indonesian Ombudsman Bobby Hamzar Rafinus noted that one of the goals of the cooperation is to encourage good governance practices in Indonesia, given New Zealand's strong governance reputation.

"The Indonesian Ombudsman is still new compared to the New Zealand Ombudsman. It is essential for us to learn how the Ombudsman is operated in New Zealand," Rafinus stated at the meeting, according to a statement confirmed on Wednesday.

He explained that the Indonesian Ombudsman has two main tasks: resolving reports and preventing maladministration.
