Jakarta, June 17 -- The Ministry of Migrant Workers Protection is reviewing Guatemala's request for the placement of Indonesian migrant workers in the Central American nation.

Minister Abdul Kadir Karding stated that the request was conveyed by Guatemalan Ambassador to Indonesia, Jacobo Cuyun Salguero, during his visit to the ministry's office in Jakarta.

"We will first examine the placement process, training, and the overall system," Karding said in a press statement received on Tuesday.

According to Ambassador Salguero, Guatemala has already established labor placement agreements with Canada, Spain, and Qatar.

Karding responded by expressing Indonesia's willingness to further explore Guatemala's request.
