Jakarta, Dec. 25 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) assessed that the weather modification operation (OMC) has been effective in suppressing rainfall intensity in Aceh, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and surrounding areas.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, explained that during nearly a month of the operation, rainfall intensity in the three provinces affected by floods and landslides had decreased significantly.
"The number of rain-free days in the last month was recorded to be higher than days with rain," Muhari stated during a press conference as monitored from here on Thursday.
