Jakarta, Nov. 17 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) is conducting a weather modification operation to expedite the search, evacuation, and emergency response to the landslide in Majenang Sub-district, Cilacap District, Central Java.

The Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that the Weather Modification Operation (OMC) is taking place at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, on Sunday (November 16).

"The operation is being carried out intensively, using an aircraft departing from Bandung to target regions with the potential to heighten rainfall in impacted locations," he informed in a statement.
