Jakarta, Jan. 26 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Migrant Workers Protection (P2MI) has urged the Malaysian government to investigate a shooting incident involving officers of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and five Indonesian migrant workers.

The incident resulted in one fatality and left others injured.

"The ministry urges the Malaysian government to immediately investigate this incident and take firm action against the APMM patrol officers if they are proven to have used excessive force," said Christina Aryani, Deputy Minister of P2MI, during a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday.
