Jakarta, Feb. 12 -- Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Stella Christie, has asked ASEAN to design an education policy on the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

"Responding to the development of artificial intelligence, ASEAN needs to design an education policy related to the aspects of readiness and responsibility in the implementation of AI," she said at the 1st Regional Policy Convening of AI Ready ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In the design of the policy, ASEAN will also need to strengthen good public literacy about AI, she added.

Literacy, in this case, does not only mean that someone knows about the existence of AI, but also includes three other aspects.
