Jakarta, Jan. 29 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Human Rights demanded transparent legal accountability from Malaysian authorities for the shooting incident against five Indonesian migrant workers involving the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) in Selangor.

The ministry's Director General of Human Rights Services and Compliance, Munafrizal Manan, noted that the incident claimed the life of one Indonesian, left one Indonesian migrant worker in critical condition, and caused injuries to three others.

"We urge for transparent and impartial legal accountability from Malaysian law enforcement agencies against APMM officers who committed the inhumane act," he noted in a written statement received here on Wednesday.
