Jakarta, Feb. 3 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has reminded households of their role in addressing the national waste emergency to support the implementation of the circular economy at the grassroots level.

"The role of households is the main key to resolving the national waste emergency through circular economy implementation," Nurofiq said in a statement on Tuesday.

He made the remarks after inspecting Ciamis District, West Java, on February 1 to review the consistency of community-based waste management, which placed the district at the top of the 2026 Adipura Award assessment.
