Jakarta, June 12 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation on the purchase of KAAN fifth-generation fighter jets produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries.

The MoU for the KAAN procurement was inked by Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and President of the Turkish SSB, Prof. Haluk Gorgun, at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum, Jakarta, Wednesday (June 11), where Turkey was a participant.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was also present to witness the signing of the MoU.

KAAN is the first fighter jet to be fully developed and manufactured in Turkey.
