Jakarta, March 6 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Industry will provide training in the processing of leather and footwear products to Sri Lankan industrial workers, in collaboration with the ATK Yogyakarta Polytechnic.

Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita informed here on Thursday that based on data from the World Footwear Yearbook, Indonesia is one of the top five footwear producers: it churned out 807 million pairs in 2023, with 445 million pairs exported to various countries.

"This shows that the domestic workforce and footwear industry have high productivity and capability," he pointed out.
