Jakarta, March 10 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has called for the merger of public broadcasters TVRI, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), and ANTARA News Agency, along with the development of a roadmap.
"We need to regulate the merger model for TVRI, RRI, and ANTARA, as well as its roadmap," Director General of Digital Ecosystem at the ministry, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, stated during a hearing with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday.
During the meeting on the Broadcasting Law amendment, he highlighted the need to strengthen institutional management of the nation's public broadcasters in multi-platform broadcasting.
