Jakarta, Feb. 13 -- Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the government will reveal the future of the Martabe gold mine in North Sumatra next week.
"Next week, God willing, next week," Bahlil said on Friday at the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 forum at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta.
He said the mine is still under review to verify alleged violations linked to environmental and safety concerns.
Martabe has been associated with flash floods and landslides that struck Sumatra in November 2025.
"If the investigation finds no serious violations, it will be returned to the owner," Bahlil said.
Currently, PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) operates the Martabe mine.
