Jakarta, Feb. 17 -- Indonesia will continue its bid to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) after formally gaining full membership in BRICS, as announced by President Prabowo Subianto.

Prabowo elaborated that Indonesia is currently transitioning to full membership in BRICS, an organization that now includes nine member countries in addition to Indonesia: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.

"Regarding our international policy, we have joined BRICS, and we have been accepted. The transition process is ongoing," Prabowo stated while announcing Government Regulation Number 8 of 2025 and other economic policies at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday....
