Jakarta, June 26 -- The Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) has planned to dispatch four thousand personnel for the UN Peacekeeping Mission this year.

"We have, until now, dispatched 2,850 peacekeepers. We plan to send four thousand personnel from Indonesia to eight nations this year," Chief of Staff of the General Affairs of TNI Lt Gen. Joni Supriyanto remarked during a conference of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) here, Wednesday.

The personnel will be deployed in war-afflicted regions in Lebanon, the Republic of Central Africa, Congo, the United Nations Intern Security Force for Abiye (UNISFA) in Sudan, South Sudan, and the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso) in West Sahara.
