Jakarta, Dec. 4 -- Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman noted that Indonesia is ready to declare food self-sufficiency for strategic commodities like rice and corn on December 31, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in line with the national target.

He emphasized that the self-sufficiency target can be realized because of increased national production and increasingly stable food distribution, ensuring that Indonesia's food security is in a strong and well-maintained position.

"On December 31 at 12:00 p.m., we will announce Indonesia's self-sufficiency," Sulaiman remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.
