Jakarta, Nov. 8 -- The Indonesian government announced a plan to build integrated poultry farms to support the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and enhance national food security and self-sufficiency.
This was conveyed by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman after his meeting with the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, who also serves as the CEO of sovereign wealth fund Danantara, on Friday.
"We will build integrated broiler and layer farms with a budget of Rp20 trillion (US$1.2 billion) across the country," Sulaiman said, adding that the plan is part of the national strategy to support the MBG program to improve the children's nutrition.
