Jakarta, Jan. 29 -- Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti stated that Indonesia is expected to boost its halal exports following the signing of mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) on halal certification with several countries.

"The potential continues to grow alongside the strengthening of exports through Mutual Recognition Agreements on Indonesia's halal certification, which is now recognized in 16 countries, complemented by bilateral cooperation on halal trade with five strategic partner nations," she said in a statement on Thursday.

According to her, the growing export potential of halal products is expected to increase the country's foreign exchange earnings and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global halal trade sector.
