Jakarta, May 6 -- Minister of Investment and Downstreaming and head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani informed that the government is revising the rules to allow third parties to set up electric vehicle charging stations in Indonesia.
According to the minister, seven electric vehicle manufacturers built their factories in Indonesia in the period from 2024 to March 2025.
To achieve the target of producing 2.5 million electric vehicles per year by 2030, a sound ecosystem is needed, including charging stations, he said.
"Therefore, we are revising the regulation and allowing third parties to operate charging stations for wider distribution," he said on Tuesday.
