Jakarta, June 12 -- At least 67,870 new jobs are expected to be created in Indonesia by the end of this year, according to Head of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
"It is true that we are witnessing a wave of layoffs, but our projection indicates that we can expect to see the emergence of 67 thousand new jobs before the end of the year," he informed at the International Conference on Infrastructure 2025 in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said that this increase in employment opportunities is expected to come from two renowned global textile companies planning to relocate their facilities to Indonesia.
