Jakarta, May 3 -- Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and his Thai counterpart, Maris Sangiampongsa, agreed to upgrade bilateral relations to a strategic partnership at the 10th Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCM) meeting in Bangkok, Friday.
"This step reflects our increasingly close bilateral relations and a shared vision to contribute more to the region," Sugiono noted in his statement.
As a follow-up, both sides agreed at the JCM, co-chaired by the two foreign ministers, to establish a joint working team to formulate a strategic partnership roadmap and to identify key sectors for deliverables at the next high-level visit.
