Jakarta, Nov. 17 -- The Indonesian government is targeting the construction of 104 Sekolah Rakyat, a tuition-free boarding school program, in 2026, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said on Monday.
He delivered the statement during a working meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives in Jakarta.
The government is also aiming to rehabilitate 1,000 Islamic schools and seven universities, he added.
Dody said the targets reflect the government's support for education, worship, sports, socio-cultural development, the economy, and health to build superior human resources.
