Jakarta, Dec. 26 -- Indonesia is targeting consumer spending of Rp110 trillion (around US$6.56 billion) by the end of 2025, supported by shopping discount programs rolled out across malls and e-commerce platforms, a senior minister said.

Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government has launched several initiatives to boost consumption, including the National Online Shopping Day and the Shop Locally in Indonesia campaign.

He added that these discount programs are expected to lift consumer spending and contribute positively to national economic growth this year.
