Jakarta, March 6 -- Indonesia has expressed its support for the final declaration of the Arab Summit on joint efforts to help rebuild the Gaza Strip following the Israeli aggression.

"We welcome the Cairo Declaration as a result of the Arab Summit on the reconstruction efforts of Gaza. It has a proximity to the hearts of the Indonesian people," Spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Rolliansyah Soemirat stated in a media briefing on Thursday.

Despite not being a participant in the Arab Summit, Soemirat believes the values and spirit of the Cairo Declaration will resonate at the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) initiated by several OIC members, including Indonesia, on March 7.
