Jakarta, Dec. 26 -- The Indonesian government has announced plans to fully resume nationwide implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program on January 8, 2026, following a five-day preparation period.
In a statement issued on Friday, National Nutrition Agency (BGN) head Dadan Hindayana said January 2-7 has been designated for MBG kitchens to prepare and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
He explained that MBG kitchens - officially known as Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) - will use the period to ready cooking facilities and equipment, strengthen distribution mechanisms, and prepare human resources.
