Jakarta, Jan. 1 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka announced the government's target to complete construction of legislative and judicial institution buildings in the future capital, Nusantara (IKN), by 2027.
"The development of the legislative and judicial complexes began in early December 2025 and is scheduled for completion by December 2027, enabling state institutions to function optimally and support national-level decision-making," he said in a statement cited here on Thursday.
Gibran made the remarks during a firsthand inspection of the ongoing development of the new capital city in parts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara districts of East Kalimantan Province on Wednesday (December 31).
