Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- The Indonesian government has designated 17 national holidays for 2026, as outlined in a Joint Decree (SKB) signed by several ministers.
"This decision went through a process of review at echelon 2 and echelon 1 levels before being finalized. The total number of national holidays for 2026 is 17 days," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno explained here on Friday.
The 17 designated national holidays for 2026 are as follows:
* Thursday, January 1 - New Year's Day
* Friday, January 16 - Isra and Mi'raj of Prophet Muhammad
* Tuesday, February 17 - Chinese New Year 2577
* Thursday, March 19 - Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence)
* Saturday, March 21 - Eid al-Fitr 1477 H
