Jakarta, July 24 -- Trade Minister Budi Santoso has said that the Indonesian government is currently negotiating the elimination of tariffs on Indonesian exports such as crude palm oil (CPO), cocoa, and coffee with the United States.
"For products that are not produced in the US, but we export, we are asking for a zero percent tariff. For example, CPO, cocoa, and coffee -- those are not produced there," he informed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Regarding US imports entering Indonesia tariff-free, he emphasized that not all American products would enjoy duty-free and non-tariff barrier exemptions.
"The details of which commodities are subject to tariffs or not will be outlined in the agreement, which is still being negotiated," he said.
