Jakarta, April 18 -- Indonesia is keen to secure a more competitive tariff in the negotiations with the United States on its reciprocal tariff policy, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated.
"Indonesia must secure lower tariffs that are on par with those given to competitor countries," the minister remarked at a press conference titled "Recent Developments in Indonesia-US Trade Negotiation and Diplomacy," as monitored online from here on Friday.
These competitor countries include those in the Southeast Asian region, as well as other Asian countries such as India, China, South Korea, and Japan.
