Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- The Ministry of Environment has sealed off approximately 200 hectares of burned land in Kubu Raya District, West Kalimantan, following fires that led to an increase in hotspots and deteriorating air quality.

"This is part of our commitment to uphold the law against businesses that neglect their obligations to control air pollution. We will continue to take firm action against similar violations in other regions," said the ministry's Deputy for Law Enforcement, Rizal Irawan, on Monday.

The sealing was carried out at two locations: Pematang Tujuh Village in Rasau Jaya Sub-district and Punggur Besar Village in Sungai Kakap Sub-district.
