Jakarta, Dec. 12 -- Indonesia remains committed to importing crude oil and fuel from the United States under the two countries' ongoing trade tariff negotiations, a senior energy official said on Friday.

"We, at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, stay committed and will proceed with the import quantities we agreed upon with the US," Deputy Minister Yuliot Tanjung said, addressing rumors that the talks risk cancellation.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that negotiations are continuing and are expected to conclude this month.
