Jakarta, Sept. 3 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs has begun preparations to distribute assistance to the families of deceased victims and to those injured during the recent wave of protests in Jakarta and several other regions.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf highlighted the plan after opening a budget management training for treasurers of schools under the free education program Sekolah Rakyat in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the ministry had conducted assessments to verify prospective beneficiaries and would launch the first batch of distribution within the next one or two days.
