Jakarta, Feb. 28 -- President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the ministries to maintain the stability of staple food prices and ensure their availability during the holy month of Ramadan.

"I have given instructions to the Coordinating Minister for Food, Minister of Trade, Minister of Agriculture, and all relevant ministers to guarantee the availability of staple foods and prevent speculative price increases," he said on Friday.

Prabowo said he had been closely monitoring fluctuations in food production and prices in recent weeks, stressing the importance of ensuring that the public has access to affordable food, particularly the most vulnerable groups.
