Jakarta, Sept. 25 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto departed for Amsterdam on Wednesday night, concluding his official visit to Ottawa.
He and his delegation left Canada at 9 p.m. local time for the Netherlands, the next stop on his diplomatic tour.
Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia Jess Dutton, Indonesian Ambassador to Canada Muhsin Syihab, and Defense Attache Air Commodore Edwardus Wisoko Aribowo were present at the airport to bid him farewell.
During his stay in Ottawa, Prabowo held two high-level meetings seen as a new chapter in Indonesia-Canada relations.
He first met Governor General Mary Simon at Rideau Hall. The warm reception was described by Jakarta as reflecting Canada's high regard for Indonesia.
