Medan, Dec. 8 -- Indonesia's state electricity company PLN has fully restored power to flood-hit areas in North Sumatra.

In a statement on Monday, PLN CEO Darmawan Prasodjo said all personnel worked intensively to reopen access to the hardest-hit locations and restore electricity service.

He said the recovery received full support from local governments, the military, police, and affected communities.

"The challenges are extraordinary, but our spirit to bring light to the people in North Sumatra was greater than the challenges themselves," Prasodjo said.

PLN North Sumatra Distribution Unit (UID) General Manager Mundhakir said the recovery was carried out by prioritizing safety, speed, and accuracy.
