Jakarta, July 3 -- Indonesia's domestic supply of crude oil and fuel remains secure despite the potential threat of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz, according to an official from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
"Our focus is to ensure the availability of imported crude and fuel," said Dadan Kusdiana, secretary general of the ministry, on Thursday.
He noted that state-owned energy company Pertamina has already prepared alternative shipping routes in case the strait is blocked.
Kusdiana said the ministry is coordinating closely with Pertamina, including running simulations to prepare for disruptions to global oil shipments.
"We've already run simulations for a scenario in which the Strait of Hormuz is closed," he added....
