Jakarta, Nov. 10 -- The newly inaugurated Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Arif Satria, has pledged to accelerate the development of science-techno parks (STPs) across Indonesia to boost regional development and economic growth.
He said that STPs need to be strengthened to help the government and industries address local challenges through research-based solutions.
"If each province has strong research and innovation ecosystems that collaborate with universities, I believe many regional problems can be effectively resolved," he told reporters after his inauguration in Jakarta on Monday.
