Kuala Lumpur, Sept. 14 -- The Malaysian branch of Indonesia's Islamic organization Muhammadiyah on Sunday inaugurated Rumah Hamka (House of Hamka) in Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia, to expand preaching reach and promote unity.

The house is named after the late Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, a Muhammadiyah cleric, politician, journalist, author, philosopher, and lecturer popularly known as Buya Hamka. He served as chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) from 1975 to 1981.

During the inauguration, Indonesian Deputy Ambassador to Malaysia Danang Waskito expressed hope that the house would bring benefits to all and help spread the ideas of Buya Hamka.
