Jakarta, April 15 -- Indonesia's Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Lestari Moerdijat, has called on the government to take prompt and concrete action to address the disparity in educational access between women in rural and urban areas.

She emphasized that improving women's access to education is essential for achieving gender equality and maximizing the potential of national human resources, which in turn would help ensure fairer and broader welfare for all Indonesians.
